Fourth of July Recipe Favorites from Food Bloggers

My friends (admittedly myself included) are about as indecisive as, well, I’m not quite sure… So when it came to Fourth of July plans we considered a road trip to Austin, camping in Oklahoma, a flight to LA, going to my parent’s lake house outside Kansas City, and then we settled on staying in Dallas. That’s right, because we couldn’t decide.

The great thing about the 4th is you only need friends, food, sparklers and a lot of red and blue to make for the perfect day. If there’s one thing I still like to plan out it’s a menu, and serving up stars and stripes is the thing to do on the Fourth of July. Here are 7 patriotic recipes from brilliant food bloggers that prove it.

Now if I could just pick which one I want to make…

American Flag Layer Cake

SugarHero came to the rescue with the most amazing looking American Flag cake. It’s not only a great patriotic centerpiece for a festive get together, it will satisfy any sweet tooth with over a dozen red, white, and blue layers. That’s one big slice of American pride.
